Description of the zoning districts shown
- The large area at the north end of the village (Board of Education of Berne Union LSD land), a strip along the west side of the village next to the railroad, the Village Well Field area, several Village of Sugar Grove parcels at the south end, and a few lots in town (lots 1 E/2 E, 65 W/65 E, and 70/71) are colored green: SU - Special Use District.
- Most of the platted town between Fifth St and First St (Original Town, Huls Add, J Stuckeys 1st and 2nd Add, S Stuckeys Add) and the land east of East St, including St Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, are colored light tan: R-1 - "Old Village" Residential District.
- A small group of lots along Elm St between Fifth St and Fourth St (W & A Cooperrider, E & D Stickdorn and K & M Hartmann parcels) is colored light orange: R-2 - "New Village" Residential District.
- The Derryberry Rentals LLC parcel at the northwest corner of town, west of Elm St, is colored dark brown: AR - Apartment Residential District.
- The area south of First St around Main St, Maple St and Bridge St, extending south to the Stimmel Construction parcels, is colored orange: VC - Village Center District.
- The large Columbia Gas Transmission Corp parcel on the east side of the village is colored pink: I - Industrial District.
- The land southeast of town along Sugar Grove Rd (including the J & P Cress parcel and the Flowers Add lots on Hocking St) and a parcel at the far east edge are shown with yellow hatching: RR - Rural Residential District.
- The Village Cemetery, south of the village along Buckeye Rd, is marked with a small yellow-hatched area.
